DHOW TOUR, SNORKELING, EXTRA DIVING OPTION
On arrival, a classic light swahili breakfast of traditional sweet breads&fresh fruits with arabic coffee or swahili tea is served down the famous shimoni caves,a community project supported by charlie claw’s.At 9.00am to catch the best tide option, board a converted authentic Lamu dhow & In comfort depart for Kisite National Marine Park for snorkeling&dolphin spotting – 90% + dolphin success rate! Kisite Marine is the best underwater park on the Kenyan coast. Mineral water, fruits and soda for the guest on the dhow are free of charge. For snorkelers, masks & snorkels, fins & full diving gear for diver is provided. Non swimming guests can enjoy the under water by using glass bottomed viewers from the accompanying comfort dinghy.
Dhow sail at some point during the day-traditionally rigged it’s a back-in-time’ experience. -Scuba diving for diving enthusiasts or a fun dive for first timers are on offer at an extra $45 for a fun or single dive and $80 for a double dive. The best price on the coast! SSI certified diving instructors supervise and offer individual assistance. Also BSAC registered. Divers are also joined by turtles.
The relaxing lazy lagoon pool-the only pool on the island, cooling, enormous & natural.
Comfortable loungers-set in private grottos away from it all.
Revamped restaurant-private &nestling at the end of Wasini island with the ocean lapping to be beach &garden shoreline.
LUNCH IN WASINI ISLAND AT CHARLIE CLAW’S
Guests arrive on wasini island at approximately 1:30pm for an exotic 5-course lunch. Unlimited quality wind by the glass, beer, sodas and mineral water are included. Bowl of marinated fish and coconut biting.
Freshly prepared whole crab steamed in ginger-the famous charlie claw’s speciality. Barbequed fish fresh from fisherman’s baskets with swahili sauce, coconut rice & chapatis-a traditional wasini island celebration dish.
Tropical fruit platter of all available exotic fruits. Arabic coffee and simsim-sesame fruits. For non-seafood eater we prepared as an alternative to crab&fish. -Fresh traditional vegetable soup followed by barbequed chicken or swahili vegetarian.
Guests have the following options:
-Snooze on the beds under the shade in the private gardens
-visit the nearby Wasini village –an authentic fishing community with arab coastal style houses, ancient tombs and mosque-and the women board project supported by Charlie claw’s-a spectacular coral garden &into the mangrove walk of discovery.
-Depending on the tides afternoon snorkeling is also a possibility.
-An early evening departure in time to freshen up before supper.
